A lot of people will probably be pleased to hear this, given the fact that she's being called "one of the most hated women in America."
Today, Judge Belvin Perry ordered Casey Anthony to pay $97,676.98 to the state of Florida to cover costs associated with the investigation of Caylee Anthony's disappearance.
The judge ruled that Casey must pay these costs because she was convicted of lying to law enforcement about her daughter's disappearance, and she allowed them to devote time AND money to an investigation, when she already knew that Caylee was dead.
Here's the breakdown of how much Casey is being forced to pay to different Florida agencies:
- $61,505.12 to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- $25,837.96 to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
- $10,283.90 to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation
- $50 to the State Attorney’s Office
While it seems that justice will never be fully served in this case, we're glad to see that further efforts are being made to ensure that Casey doesn't get off 100% scot-free.
What do U think about this? Should Casey Anthony be responsible for all the costs listed (above)???
