Today is a somber occasion.
If she were still with us, Amy Winehouse would be celebrating her 28th birthday today with her adoring family and her legions of fans. Still, though Amy is no longer with us, her family has made it possible for all of us to celebrate her life and her music with a special release.
To commemorate the day, her family is releasing her duet with Tony Bennett, Body and Soul, via her website. All the proceeds from the sale of the single will go to her foundation, which her father explains will "support charitable activities in both the UK and abroad that provide help, support or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction."
A beautiful gesture to make in the name of someone truly beautiful and talented.
