William And Kate Giving Away Their Wedding Gifts…Or At Least One Of Them!

William and Kate received a Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) Land Rover for their royal wedding…and now they're passing it along.

The royal couple donated their land rover to Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW), which held a drawing, and then the vehicle was finally re-gifted to the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

Here's what the team's honorary secretary Keith Montgomery had to say about it:

"The vehicle will be greatly appreciated. Our present vehicle only has a shelf life of about six months and we were embarking on a major fundraising exercise to raise more than £45,000 to replace it."

We're glad to see the vehicle will be put to good use…but we'll have to think twice before sending any gifts to William and Kate in the future!

Motherboard Not Working and System Giving Alarms - Troubleshooting

The cause of this failure often has below aspects:

Memory alerts

Memory alerts are quite common: chassis has sound like "tick, tick, tick..." on boot.

If it only happens occasionally, you can simply fix it by opening the box, taking off the memory bank and reinserting it. But keep in mind to pull up the power line of the computer when drawing and plugging the memory bank in case the memory would be burned accidentally.

If this occurs frequently, you should look over the issue carefully. In general, it is the tinpot memory bank, golden finger or the memory slot leading to poor contact. You can firstly wipe the golden finger of your memory bank with an eraser, and then reinsert the bank to its slot. If this method does not work, and there are gaps in the two sides of the golden finger slot, you can try to fill the gaps with some hot melt adhesive so as to avoid continued oxidation of the golden finger surface, but the adhesive would make the memory bank difficult to be pulled out.

Video card alarms

If the video card alarms, it mostly because the insert is loose with its slot or the display card is mangled, and a bulk of motherboards would accompany with one long and two short beeps.

First, you need to open the box and reinsert the graphics card. If it still alarms, probably the video card chips are broken, so you have to repair the card or just buy a new one. For motherboards with an audio alert feature, you should distinguish the prompts carefully and solve the problem. Besides, you should scrutinize the AGP slots, if there are some small items in the slots, you need to take them out, or else the video card can not be put in place.

In addition, the incompatibility between video card and motherboard also would give rise to this problem: sometimes the monitor light is on normally, but at times you would hear one "tick" to pass the POST (Power-on self test) process, but a black screen shows up later, and the monitor's power light is in green. Insert this card into another motherboard, it works regularly. In this case, you need to change the video card.
