Has the Mainstream Media Heard of Climategate?

Climategate is perhaps the biggest scandal to ever be revealed. It is not a local, state, or national scandal, but a scandal on an international scale the likes of which has never been seen. The entire climate change scenario was used as a Trojan horse to usher in the one world government so desired by the left leaning in academia and the elite of the world. What is most unusual is the proof that has been coming to light. It is not often such proof gets exposed.

Man caused global warming is a deception perpetrated not only on the peoples of the world, but upon entire governments. Big business, self-serving scientists, and the elite have hundreds of billions of dollars at stake in their sham and intend to fight on.

Recently leaked emails reveal the doctoring of facts and contriving of figures bring into question even the initial claim that there was ever any serious need for concern as to man caused global warming. But, it was seen as a convenient vehicle to promote their agenda and disguise the move to transfer the wealth of the developed world to the undeveloped under a one world government.

The facts are out there for those who seek to research them. That the mainstream media has not touched this scandal makes them essentially complicit in the cover up. The scientists who have been guilty of promoting this global warming scam have also been guilty of vilifying, attacking, firing, and silencing all those scientists who disagreed with their theories and tried to show they were faulty.

So what has happened to the American media? Where are they on this story? I can remember when America was known as a nation of truth. I can remember when science was a credible field. I can remember when the media actively sought to uncover scandals and breaking news, yet they are almost entirely absent in what is the biggest scandal ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting worldwide public.

Does no one in the media care any longer for uncovering facts? Is there to be no truth in media? Is there no longer such a thing as investigative journalism? The mainstream media has brought embarrassment to our nation as a whole in making us look so foolish, naive, and uninformed. Are we to appear as a nation of liars as well?

I suggest that either the media needs to wake up and get back to what true journalism used to be or they will find themselves without a buying public. If the public abandons the media, as they are doing, soon the media will be crying for federal bailouts and will then become the "state run" media struggling to survive on the meager handouts of a benevolent state. If the media in this country is to survive as the voice of truth or reason they had better wake up soon.

I grew up as a business owner and I trained myself to look for opportunities to create a viable business. In some cases opportunity presented itself in the form of an unmet need. In some instances it presented itself in the form of a need being poorly served. What exists at this moment in time with the mainstream media is an opportunity to fill the need it used to fill. Present facts. Reveal...indeed become..the source of truth. But, not one mainstream media outlet is doing so. The opportunity now apparent is to go back to seeking the truth and exposing it, because the need for truth in reporting is not being met, or is being met very poorly.

The American public loves to see courage and hear truth spoken backed by facts. It has become notably absent in the media. Our media outlets have become so left leaning and biased that they now have their own agenda and have abandoned the idea of truth, investigation, facts, or reason. Most promoted the idea of man caused global warming for years and cannot bring themselves to look into the facts and instead hide in the closet to avoid the truth. If they do not change their ways they will have no credibility left and no audience.

The world used to look to America for truth and reason. We are now losing our credibility for either truth or reason because our media has traded the idea of truth for bias. We, the people, do not care for biased reporting. We do not care for deception or cover ups. We just want truth. The media types need to realize we care not for party lines, speaking points, dogma, or ideology. Newspapers and networks are dying on the vine and I suggest it is the absence of facts, truth, reason,or accuracy in coverage that is at the heart of the disintegration of ratings and sales.

The media can become part of the solution or they will become a very obvious part of the problem and the people will rebel against you as the truth and the media complicity become obvious. The truth is out there and it is becoming known, any further delay by the media to get involved in the revealing of this truth is going to destroy whatever credibility they have left. Bias and ideology will not save media in America. If you cannot produce the truth, then may God forgive you, for the people will not.

Deficit Hawks Heard Calls For Action

Yesterday afternoon, an overflow audience at the Center for a Responsible Federal Budget conference heard:

Ben Bernanke say "...maintaining the status quo is not an option...I fully understand the desire to use the debt limit deadline to force some necessary and difficult fiscal policy adjustments, but the debt limit is the wrong tool for that important job. Failing to raise the debt ceiling in a timely way would be self-defeating if the objective is to chart a course toward a better fiscal situation for our nation." His full remarks are here. He didn't take any questions.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-OH) call for $6.2 trillion of spending cuts over the next 10 years versus the President's FY12 Budget ($5 trillion from the CBO baseline). He would "repair the rips in the social safety net" by moving Medicare to a premium support system for those under 55 today -- "It saves Medicare." His plan would bring the public debt down from a peak of 74.5% in 2015.

Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) said "I'm mystified by the conversation that's going on in Washington... No constituent of mine at the local level would ever tolerate the conversation that we're having in Washington. When it came to the government shutdown question, at least by my math, the bid and the asked spread between the two sides in the last couple of weeks represented roughly 4 cents of the $20 meal at Applebee's that you might have for dinner."

Former Fed Governor and Bush economist Larry Lindsey say three "cost elements are underestimated by official estimates...If we normalized interest rates in 2013 [at the 5.7% historical average of the last 20 years], which I would say if we don't do it, the markets may force us to, would add around $400 billion in extra interest costs. Now, the Congress just struggled to find $37 billion in cuts in March. And here we're talking about a normalization of rates costing ten times that...I can tell you how we're going to fix it. The Fed is not going to let interest rates normalize. Now, that raises a whole host of other questions, meaning we're going to be printing a lot more money than we expect. I think when markets realize that's the option, we're in trouble. Official Washington is underestimating the size of the problem because we're living off of low interest rates...The total additional cost [over 10 years] is $5.4 trillion." "We are misestimating economic growth. We are far too optimistic." "The 10-year cost of one point less growth is $755 billion"...If we grow at 2.5% instead of the 4% plus assumed by President Obama in his budget, the Administration has underestimated the deficit by $2 trillion over the next 10 years. The reality of ObamaCare is that, according to a recent McKinsey study, employers would drop their plans covering about 30% of Americans, dumping about 40 million Americans onto the federal plan. "If McKinsey is right about this, the underscoring of ObamaCare is roughly equal to the cost of [the] Iraq and Afghanistan [wars]."

PIMCO's Neel Kashkari said "We don't [lend money to Treasury] [Laughter.]. The fundamentals are clear. Short term, Europe has it's own mess. We're just the strongest weakling today...Our political system responds to a crisis...The concern that I have is that if we wait until there is an acute crisis out there in the Treasury market, we may permanently undermine the gold standard that Treasury occupies today and permanently increase out nation's borrowing costs. Remember, in every finance textbook around the world, U.S. Treasury bonds are defined as the risk-free financial instrument. If we undermine that belief," we may look back on that as quaint just the way we do now on AAA subprime housing debt.

Barclay's Michael Pond said "If there's no deal, 9% of GDP goes away. That's a double-dip [recession] scenario...What we're particularly concerned about ... is the potential for a fall in the dollar, which then causes rating agency action, which then causes yields and interest rate costs to rise significantly."

Dozens of other speakers made excellent points, so the entire three hour 12 minute video is well worth watching, even if it is a downer. When I moved to the rooftop reception and talked with a friend, who repeated what a downer the session had been, I quipped, "That's why they put the bar near the shallow end of the pool." Then OMB Director Jack Lew arrived fresh from Biden group budget talks to say those negotiators were serious and respectful and working during this "critical time" to reach a deal. He concluded with a useful Washington insider observation, "No one has leaked anything yet, so it's going well."
