Boo! Pope Is Calling For Unity Against Same Sex Marriage!

Pope Anti Gay Messages

The Pope is calling for unity against same sex marriage, even from different religions. Because, you know, that's the most important fight for them right now — the unity between two people who love each other, which has no effect on anyone outside of their relationship.

Here's what the Pope said in Germany:

"Knowing, too, the value of family and marriage, we as Christians attach great importance to defending the integrity and the uniqueness of marriage between one man and one woman from any kind of misinterpretation. Here the common engagement of Christians, including many Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Christians, makes a valuable contribution to building up a society equipped for the future."

We hear a lot about the integrity and uniqueness of marriage that needs defending, but we don't hear a lot about how it's being attacked. And with what it's being attacked. Or how Greg and Larry's marriage (filled with love and devotion) makes Becky and Andrew's marriage (filled with love and devotion) any less meaningful.

He even met with Muslim leaders and said:

“I am thinking, for example, of the protection of the family based in marriage, respect for life in every phase of its natural course or the promotion of greater social justice.”

How does the LGBT community not respect life? That's just absurd. This whole argument is absurd.

We actually think the community has MORE respect for life — especially in how those lives want to express their love to one another.

What is really lost by allowing love to flourish?

If you don't like same-sex marriage, then you don't have to marry the same sex! Simple as that, and your life hasn't changed one bit. Just don't bring others down for wanting a meaningful relationship recognized by the state, and if they so choose, the church.

Nicola Roberts Speak Out Against Bullying!

nicola-roberts-speak-out-against-bullying

She is just too lovely!

We couldn't be more thrilled that she's speaking out against such an important issue!

Nicola Roberts is the latest star to take a stand against the ever-growing problem with bullying around the world, and is eager to meet with education officials in the U.K. to address the issue!

She explains:

"It's so out of control. Society is very quick to judge these days. One of the good things about Twitter, is it sort of highlights the severity of the problem. Constantly, I've found with tweets, talking about people's personal situations, whether it's at school, being scared to go to school, people being scared to go to work even, people in the workplace. It really angers me and I don't like to think there are people out there that really feel not great about themselves. I don't think anybody is in a position to make somebody else feel that way about themselves, it really annoys me. It's about ego and position. I would really just say (to victims) you have to turn it around and you can't admire the people who are able to say nasty things so frivolously. It's not admirable. Effectively you are the nicer person and you should hold on to that. In schools now it's so out of control, I'd really like to speak to somebody. There needs to be more of a support system. I get tweets every day: 'I'm terrified to go to school'. You're helpless, it's really hard."

Agreed 100%, gurl!

And we especially appreciate that not only are you using your platform to bring attention to it, but also putting some of your own personal experiences with being taunted and ridiculed into some of your song lyrics!

Sticks + Stones, in particular, is so, so powerful, and we imagine a lot of individuals can relate to what you've been through!

The time to end bullying is NOW! And we appreciate your help in the effort!

Team GINGE!

Unpaid Interns File Lawsuit Against Fox Searchlight For…Being Unpaid Interns???

black-swan-interns-file-lawsuit-against-fox-searchlight

What on effing Earth?

They understand that these positions are generally unpaid in Hollywood, correct?

Alex Footman and Eric Glatt, two former interns who worked on the production of Black Swan have reportedly filed a lawsuit with Fox Searchlight over what they claimed to be improper use of their position, violation of federal and state wage laws, and are seeking back pay for the work they think they should have been done by paid employees.

Apparently, they had positions as production interns, and was required to - GASP - make coffee, clean the kitchen, and take lunch orders for the cast and crew. Furthermore, Footman claims that the only thing he learned on the set was “how to be more picky in choosing employment opportunities.”

Okay, wait - seriously?

What planet did they come from to assume that jobs in this business would just be handed to them?

It may be different in other industries, but half the battle in Hollywood is working from the bottom up as an intern, and doing it with humility and a smile on your face, and therefore proving to the actual employees for which your working that you are capable, efficient, and go above and beyond what's required of you while simultaneously learning about the industry by OBSERVING what's going on around you!

You only get from your internship what you put into it, and if they wanted a paid internship, they should have sought them out! There are plenty in this town, and thousands of other students would be happy to have had the experience on the set of that movie, and GRATEFUL!

But we seriously doubt that anyone in this industry is going to hire them after this silliness.

Too bad! So sad!

European Group Files Suit Against LimeWire

An organization representing independent record labels has filed a $5 million lawsuit against LimeWire, the defunct file-sharing network, for breach of contract.

In its suit, Merlin, a European group that works with more than 12,000 labels around the world, said that LimeWire had failed to make good on an agreement to pay its member labels a settlement comparable to the $105 million it agreed in May to pay the major record labels. The labels had won the settlement in  a lawsuit filed against LimeWire in 2006 for large-scale copyright infringement on LimeWire’s peer-to-peer network.

Merlin was created in 2008 and was not a party to the major labels’ original suit. But in its suit, filed on Wednesday in United States District Court in Manhattan, Merlin said that in 2009 and 2010, LimeWire had signed agreements promising that if a settlement was reached with the majors, Merlin would be offered a settlement on the same terms.

A lawyer for LimeWire and its founder, Mark Gorton, did not respond to a phone call requesting comment.
